Access to clean and safe drinking water remains a critical issue in many rural regions of West Bengal. This project aims to install boreholes in underserved villages to ensure sustainable and reliable access to potable water, thereby reducing waterborne diseases, improving health outcomes, and enhancing the quality of life. We seek funding to support the installation of 11 boreholes initially in high-need communities. Each borehole will serve approximately 100-200 households.
In rural areas of West Bengal, many communities rely on unsafe water sources such as ponds, rivers, or hand-dug wells, leading to high rates of diarrhea, cholera, and other illnesses. Women and children often walk long distances to fetch water, affecting education and productivity.
Target Area: Rural villages in districts such as parts of West Bengal.
Site selection will be based on need assessment, water scarcity data, and community
interest.
1. Community Engagement & Site Assessment
2. Geological Survey for Borehole Feasibility
3. Drilling and Construction of Boreholes
4. Installation of Hand Pumps
5. Water Testing and Quality Assurance
6. Training Local Water Committees for Maintenance
7. Monitoring & Evaluation
Direct: Benifits people across 3-5 villages
Indirect: Improved health and reduced burden on healthcare systems

Local communities will be trained to form Water User Committees for each borehole. Maintenance plans, local ownership, and partnerships with local government agencies will ensure sustainability.
Your support will directly transform lives by providing the basic human right to safe drinking water.
